Not all teaching is done in the classroom! One of the most exciting things about being at school is ‘the secret life of a boarder’, a very rewarding and unique aspect of school life. We believe in teaching children skills that will help them become caring, responsible individuals in every phase of their life; be it at home with friends and family, or when they are brave enough to go out into the world on their own after college!

Our boarders are cared for by two dedicated matrons, a Junior Mistress and support staff. Beginner Boarders are always paired with a ‘buddy’ who as well as the Matrons, will help coach them through the typical routine of a boarder.

Finaughty House, the school’s hostel, is located on school campus, simply a minute’s walk from the classes. A full kitchen, dining area and laundry, in addition to four spacious dormitories means that we can house up to 140 boarders comfortably.

Life at Finaughty House Hostel is chock full of reading, homework, brushing teeth, outdoor play, special birthday treats, everyone’s favorite – bedtime, the list is endless! Finaughty House is ‘home away from home’ and we are so humbled to be able to play such a major part in making fond memories of school life.

We have two full-time matrons who are dedicated to taking care of our weekly/full-time boarders; Ms. Mupfeki and Mrs. Gimo are on call 24/7 to attend to the children. These incredible ladies will always follow up on those not feeling too well, (during the day and throughout the night), and make sure that everything under their supervision runs smoothly, from organizing meals for the rest of the school, to laundry, to scraped knees!

We believe that hostel should be ‘home away from home’ and over the weekends, after inspections and homework time, the children are allowed free play time and controlled television time.

Parents may contact their children on the hostel cell number +263 773 063 414 from:

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on weekdays, and at any time during the day over the weekends.
